KARNALI: The Karnali Province government has decided to rename and abolish directorates and training centres, and to carry out functions through the Karnali Province Training Academy.
The spokesperson for the provincial government and Minister of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives, Binod Kumar Shah, said that the Karnali Province Council of Ministers meeting held today at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, in Birendranagar, Surkhet, made that decision.
He said that the provincial government’s cabinet meeting held on June 11 had decided on restructuring of six directorates and three training centres.
According to spokesperson Shah, the meeting decided to abolish the Infrastructure Development Directorate, the Drinking Water, Irrigation and Energy Development Directorate, the Agriculture Development Directorate, the Livestock Development Directorate, the Industry and Consumer Protection Directorate, and the Province Forest Directorate, Surkhet, as well as the Forest, Research and Training Centre, Surkhet, the Human Resource Development Centre, Surkhet, and the Agriculture and Livestock Business Promotion Training Centre, Surkhet.
He said that the meeting decided to give approval, in principle, for drafting the Karnali Province Monitoring and Evaluation Bill, approve the Management Assessment Manual, 2083, assign additional responsibilities to Provincial Secretary Laxmi Kumar BK to the position of Executive Director of the Karnali Province Training Academy, and approve the Karnali Province Seed and Seedling Regulations, 2083, and the Road Maintenance Manual, 2083.
