KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has launched a redesigned website developed by its own technical workforce, with a focus on making citizen-centric information, services and decisions more accessible, transparent and user-friendly.
The city’s Software Development and Operation Center (SDOC) has begun delivering results by developing service- and governance-related digital systems using its in-house technical team.
As part of the initiative, KMC has transformed its existing website with a modern interface and updated its design and content to better reflect the city’s current services and information needs. The new system has been developed internally rather than relying on an external technology provider.
Launching the upgraded system, Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol said the improved platform is expected to make it easier and more convenient for citizens to connect with the metropolitan city.
“The system has been rebuilt by prioritising information, details and services directly related to citizens. It is designed to be more user-friendly,” Dangol said.
KMC said the redesigned website aims to provide citizens with easier access to municipal information and services while improving transparency and the overall effectiveness of digital service delivery.
The initiative also reflects the metropolitan city’s growing effort to strengthen its in-house technological capacity and develop digital systems tailored to the needs of its citizens.
