KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has signed an agreement with the Mahendra Bhawan Educational Trust to restore the lost reputation of Mahendra Bhawan Secondary School and transform it into a modern model public school.
The agreement was signed on Friday in the presence of Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol and Ward No. 5 Chair Birendra Prajapati. Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain signed on behalf of KMC, while Trust Chair Prof. Dr. Pramila Rai represented the educational trust.
The partnership establishes a joint management model between the metropolitan city and the public educational trust to improve the school’s academic standards, infrastructure and long-term sustainability.
The agreement follows a meeting about 45 days ago in which former students appealed to Acting Mayor Dangol to help preserve the school. At the time, Dangol had assured them that an appropriate decision would be taken.
