KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Uddhav Bhattarai, an Accounts Officer (Sixth Level) at Ward No. 30 of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 21,000.
According to the CIAA, Bhattarai demanded and received the bribe from a service seeker in exchange for facilitating the ward office recommendation required to close a Permanent Account Number (PAN). He was apprehended while in possession of the Rs 21,000 allegedly received as a bribe. The anti-graft body said further investigation into the case is underway.
