KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall, floods, and landslides have severely disrupted major highways and secondary road sections across various parts of the country.

According to Nepal Police, traffic movement on many highways is either completely blocked or limited to one-way operations.

In Bagmati Province, the Kanti Lokpath and the Tikabhairab-Charghare road sections in Lalitpur are completely closed.

While traffic on the Prithvi Highway at Krishna Bhir and Chalise in Dhading has been partially restored to one-way, authorities have restricted movement until further notice due to safety concerns.

The Hetauda-Bhaise-Bhimfedi-Phakhel-Kathmandu road section remains fully closed, while one-way traffic is operational on the BP Highway in Kavre. All major highways in Rasuwa are blocked due to flooding.

In Koshi Province, authorities in Solukhumbu have restricted non-essential vehicle and pedestrian movement on the Siddhicharan Highway from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. due to the risk of heavy rainfall.

Road networks in Gandaki Province are also heavily impacted. The Chame-Besisahar road in Manang, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung, and the Beni-Jomsom and Beni-Darbang sections in Myagdi are completely blocked. Landslides have also halted traffic on the Jomsom-Korala road in Mustang, the Maldhunga-Beni road in Parbat, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Nawalparasi East, the Mid-Hill Highway in Lamjung, and the Ghansikuwa section of the Prithvi Highway in Tanahun.

In Lumbini Province, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Gulmi is blocked, while in Karnali Province, the Karnali Highway at Gagne Khola in Kalikot and the Nagma-Gamgadhi road in Mugu remain obstructed. Police and local administrations are working to clear the debris. Authorities have advised the public to check the status of road conditions before embarking on any travel.
