KATHMANDU: Long-distance public bus services departing from Kanchanpur have been suspended.
Transport operators announced that services will remain halted until Sunday due to risks associated with heavy rainfall, flooding, and landslides.
Transport entrepreneur Dambar Panta stated that long-distance bus services departing from Mahendranagar and Belauri are suspended from Friday through Sunday. Operators indicated that these services will remain closed until weather conditions improve.
The suspension has affected passengers traveling from Mahendranagar to destinations including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Pyuthan, and the hill districts of Sudurpashchim Province. Transport operators have urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel during the disaster period and to remain in safe locations.
The district has been experiencing regular rainfall since Friday. However, short-distance bus services continue to operate as scheduled. According to the District Police Office, water levels in local rivers and streams remain normal at this time.
