DANG: Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya is set to secure a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly today, backed by the Nepali Communist Party.
The floor test follows the withdrawal of support by the Nepali Congress from the coalition government.
The assembly session is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.
Under constitutional requirements, Chief Minister Acharya must secure a simple majority of 42 votes in the 83-member Lumbini Provincial Assembly to remain in office.
With the support of his party CPN (UML) and coalition partners, Acharya has gathered the necessary numbers to pass the vote and continue leading the provincial government.
