Manakamana Cable Car donates Rs 15 million to disaster relief fund

KATHMANDU: Manakamana Cable Car has donated Rs 15 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts for victims of the floods in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers.

The donation was handed over to Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle. The devastating floods and landslides on Aug. 26 caused significant loss of life and property in districts including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan, and Nawalpur.

Expressing grief over the disaster, Manakamana Cable Car director Rajesh Babu Shrestha paid tribute to those who lost their lives and extended condolences to the affected families. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Shrestha stated that in times of crisis, it is a shared responsibility of both the state and citizens to support those in need. He expressed hope that the financial contribution would provide relief to the victims and assist them in returning to normalcy.

Furthermore, Shrestha appealed to the public, industrialists, business owners, and social organizations to contribute to the ongoing rescue, relief, and reconstruction efforts from their respective positions.
