KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has appointed automobile entrepreneur Meghraj Paudel as the vice chairman of its transport and transit committee.
The committee is chaired by FNCCI executive committee member Lilendra Prasad Pradhan.
The federation stated that it expects Paudel’s professional experience and active involvement to contribute significantly to addressing challenges in the transport and transit sector and facilitating trade.
Paudel currently serves as the secretary of the Nada Automobiles Association of Nepal (NADA) and is a director at Alpha Automotive Pvt. Ltd. He has extensive experience in the automobile market, having been involved in the expansion of the Royal Enfield motorcycle brand in Nepal since its early stages.
Beyond his business operations, Paudel has been actively engaged in policy advocacy. Through NADA, he has consistently lobbied government agencies regarding tax and revenue policies, the promotion of assembly industries, retail pricing, the use of domestic parts and the creation of a business-friendly policy environment.
He has been a vocal advocate for international standards in local production and industry-friendly policies to ensure the long-term development of Nepal’s automobile sector. With his new appointment, the FNCCI expects his role to expand beyond the automobile industry to focus on policy reforms across the broader transport, transit and supply chain sectors.
