KATHMANDU: Most parts of Nepal are likely to remain cloudy today, with rain and thunderstorms forecast in several regions, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The Himalayan and hilly areas are expected to experience generally cloudy conditions, while the Tarai is likely to remain partly cloudy.
The department has forecast moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places in the Himalayan region and many areas of the hills. Some parts of the Tarai in Koshi and Sudurpashchim provinces are also likely to receive moderate rain with thunderstorms.
Similarly, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected at some places in the Tarai of Koshi Province, while a few areas of Madhesh Province and the Tarai belts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces may also experience such weather.
According to the weather service, the entire country is currently being affected by monsoon winds, while the monsoon trough is situated near its normal position.
