KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported that this year’s monsoon has withdrawn from several provinces in Nepal.
As of Saturday morning (October 3), the monsoon has receded from the entirety of Sudurpashchim and Karnali Provinces, as well as most parts of western Lumbini Province and a few areas in western Gandaki Province.
According to the Division, light to moderate rainfall is currently occurring in one or two places in Koshi Province and a few areas in Gandaki Province.
On Saturday night, rain is likely in a few places across the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
On Sunday and Monday, weather will remain generally cloudy in the high-mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces.
During the same period, Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces’ high-mountainous and hilly areas, along with the Terai belt across the country, will see partly cloudy conditions.
Light rainfall is also expected in some parts of the Terai region in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces on Sunday and Monday.
