KATHMANDU: Private schools in Morang district have raised Rs 7,495,791 to provide relief and support for the rehabilitation of victims affected by the floods in the Bhote Koshi river in Rasuwa. The funds were collected from schools across various local levels in the district.
Everest Secondary School in Biratnagar leads the contributions, having donated Rs 500,000. Other significant contributors include Budhanilkantha Secondary School and DAV School in Biratnagar, which each donated Rs 251,000. Adarsha Secondary School in Belbari provided Rs 215,000, while Siddhartha Secondary School in Sundarharaicha contributed Rs 175,000. Everest School in Pathari, Mount Everest Secondary School in Belbari, Miniland Secondary School in Rangeli, Bright Future Secondary School in Sundarharaicha, and DPS School in Biratnagar donated Rs 164,000, Rs 142,000, Rs 139,000, Rs 132,000, and Rs 114,000, respectively.
Additionally, Purwanchal Academy in Sundarharaicha donated Rs 111,000, Jupiter Secondary School contributed Rs 105,000, and both Modern Era Secondary School in Biratnagar and Saptakoshi Secondary School in Urlabari provided Rs 100,000 each.
In terms of regional distribution, schools in Biratnagar collected Rs 2,313,527, while those in Sundarharaicha, Belbari, and the Pathari area raised Rs 1,570,319, Rs 968,372, and Rs 690,751, respectively. Significant contributions were also received from Rangeli, Urlabari, Kerabari, Ratuwamai, and Miklajung.
