KATHMANDU: The Muglin-Narayangadh section of the Prithvi Highway has been closed until further notice.
Nepal Police said the road was closed because it is difficult to identify potential hazards at night, increasing the risk of accidents and further loss of life.
The police have urged the public to avoid travelling unless absolutely necessary and to remain in safe locations in view of the potential risks.
Authorities will assess the situation before deciding when to reopen the road.
