NAIMA provides Rs 5 million to Bhote Koshi flood victims

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has donated Rs 5 million to support relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts for victims of the Bhote Koshi flood in Rasuwa.

The association provided the funds in accordance with its prior decision.

A delegation led by NAIMA president Ritu Singh Vaidya handed over the contribution to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle.

The handover event was attended by NAIMA board members Yamuna Shrestha and Hemant Golchha, Simex Inc. CEO Sahil Shrestha, NAIMA executive director Rajkumar Dulal, program coordinator Gyanu Adhikari, and Utsav Karki from the digital agency Digipal.

During the event, Vaidya stated that the donation was provided on behalf of NAIMA member companies and automobile importers and manufacturers across Nepal. She noted that while the amount is relatively modest, the primary objective is to express solidarity with the affected community during this disaster.

Vaidya said, ‘This is not just financial support but also a message of solidarity that we stand with the affected community during difficult times.’

She further reiterated NAIMA’s commitment to stand alongside the government and affected communities during times of crisis and disaster.
