KATHMANDU: National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal has directed the government to immediately address the shortage of cooking gas in the market and ensure smooth supply and distribution.
Speaking at Wednesday’s National Assembly meeting, Dahal drew the government’s attention to the need for necessary arrangements to maintain an uninterrupted supply and sale of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
During the zero and special hours of the meeting, lawmakers raised concerns that the shortage of cooking gas was causing significant hardship for the general public.
Taking note of both the concerns expressed by lawmakers and the growing number of complaints from citizens, Dahal said, “Honorable members have been raising the problems faced by the public due to the shortage of gas in the market during the zero and special hours. Widespread complaints have also been received from the public, and I urge the government to make the necessary arrangements to ensure smooth supply and distribution of gas.”
The chair’s directive comes amid increasing public concern over the availability of cooking gas in various parts of the country.
