KATHMANDU: Nepal’s National Assembly is scheduled to meet on Thursday afternoon, with Home Minister Sudhan Gurung set to answer lawmakers’ oral questions related to his ministry.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the meeting will begin at 1:15 pm at the Parliament Building in Singha Durbar. Gurung will also respond to a question originally directed to the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security.
The agenda also includes a proposal by National Assembly member Kamala Pant, who will draw the government’s attention to its preparedness for managing monsoon-related disasters.
In addition, Minister for Agriculture, Forests and Environment Gita Chaudhary is scheduled to table the Communicable Animal Diseases (Control) Bill, 2083 before the Upper House.
The sitting is expected to focus on disaster preparedness, legislative business and ministerial accountability.
