KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Dr Dila Sangraula Pant said the party had welcomed a greater number of youths through its recent 15th General Convention.
Speaking at a greetings exchange programme organised here today by the Nepal Students’ Union Gorkha-Kathmandu Liaison Committee on the occasion of the Tihar , Nepal Sambat and Chhath festival, she said the Convention played a significant role in promoting the youth participation and leadership within the party.
She said the NC would come with programmes aimed at creating employment opportunities within the country for young people who had gone abroad.
Expressing concern over the recent ‘decline’ in the quality of education, she said the NSU should take an effective leadership role in addressing the issue.
At the programme, Kiranbabu Shrestha, Deepak Babu Kandel, Januka Pant and Janardan Aryal who were elected the party central committee members by the 15th General Convention from Gorkha were honoured.
