KATHMANDU: The Sher Bahadur Deuba faction of the Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a national gathering in Kathmandu today.
Deuba is expected to address the programme at Miracle Party Palace in Sukedhara at 11:30 am. The Nepali Congress former President returned to Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon after spending five months abroad for medical treatment. He was welcomed by a large number of party leaders and supporters upon his arrival.
Min Bishwakarma, coordinator of the publicity committee of the Congress other groups, said the gathering’s closed-door sessions will take place on Aug 15 and 16.
According to party leaders, the closed sessions will feature discussions on various thematic issues and are expected to endorse new policies and programmes. Organisers estimate that about 5,000 leaders and party cadres will attend the gathering.
