KATHMANDU: Ncell has announced that it will provide free voice and data services for three days in areas affected by the devastating floods that hit Rasuwa district on Wednesday morning.
According to the telecom operator, people in the affected areas will receive free voice and data services for three days. They will also receive 100 free SMS messages valid for the same three-day period.
Ncell said the initiative is aimed at helping flood-affected residents stay connected with their families, relatives and emergency rescue and relief teams.
The company said maintaining communication services during a disaster is critical, as uninterrupted connectivity enables affected people to exchange essential information and coordinate with rescue teams.
Ncell said it has consistently supported emergency search, rescue and relief efforts during natural disasters in the past. The latest decision was taken to help ensure communication services remain available in the affected areas during the emergency, the company said.
