KATHMANDU: Ncell has partnered with Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd. in Nepal, to introduce advanced connected vehicle services powered by Ncell Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity.
Under this collaboration, compatible new BYD vehicles will come equipped with an embedded Ncell IoT SIM, enabling direct, in-vehicle internet access without the need for external mobile hotspots or phone tethering.
This integration supports the BYD App ecosystem and allows users to seamlessly enjoy online services such as YouTube, Spotify, Karaoke, and reliable navigation directly through the vehicle’s built-in system.
The partnership extends beyond new vehicle purchasers, as existing BYD owners can also visit any of the 13 designated BYD Authorized Service Centre locations across Nepal to have an Ncell IoT SIM installed in their current cars. Speaking at the partnership event, Upanga Dutta, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Ncell, emphasized that the collaboration brings smart connectivity, security, and intelligent mobility into vehicles for a smoother driving experience.
Similarly, Sahil Shrestha, CEO of Cimex Inc., noted that reliable in-vehicle connectivity allows users to fully experience the innovative features of BYD vehicles. Specific connectivity plans, validity, and charging details will vary depending on the vehicle model and service package.
