KATHMANDU: Nepal ‘A’ cricket team has departed for Australia to compete in the Top End T20 Series, with the 15-member squad leaving the country overnight.
The team was officially farewelled by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Sunday. Anil Kumar Sah will captain Nepal ‘A’ during the Australian tour.
Nepal will begin its Top End T20 campaign on August 21 against Northern Territory Strike. The team will then face Bangladesh High Performance on August 22, Hobart Hurricanes Academy on August 24, Australian Capital Territory on August 26, Hyderabad Kingsmen Academy on August 27 and Victoria CA XI on August 29.
According to CAN, Nepal ‘A’ will also play one-day practice matches against New Zealand ‘A’, Tasmania and South Australia during its stay in Australia.
The tour is expected to provide Nepal’s emerging players with valuable exposure against strong domestic and high-performance sides ahead of future international assignments.
