Nepal A suffer second straight defeat in Top End T20 Series

DARWIN: Nepal A suffered its second consecutive defeat in the ongoing Top End T20 Cricket Series in Australia, losing to the Bangladesh High Performance XI by nine wickets on Saturday.

Nepal A was bowled out for 99 runs for nine wickets in its allotted 20 overs after being sent in to bat. Bangladesh chased down the target in 10.2 overs, losing just one wicket.

Jishan Alam led Bangladesh’s chase with an unbeaten 52 off 29 balls, hitting four sixes and three fours. Shahab Alam was Nepal’s only wicket-taker.

For Nepal A, Kushal Bhurtel top-scored with 46 runs off 40 balls, including three fours and a six. Shahab Alam and Bipin Khatri scored 11 runs each, while Rijan Dhakal made 10.

Bangladesh’s Md Rubel took four wickets for 18 runs in his four overs.

Nepal A will play its third match against Hobart Hurricanes Academy on Monday. Nepal had lost its opening match to host Northern Territory Strike by eight wickets.
