KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has recorded its highest flight operating revenue in four fiscal years, reversing a prolonged decline with a 12.6% year-on-year increase in fiscal year 2025/26 (2082/83 BS).
According to the corporation’s financial data, revenue generated from flight operations reached NPR 17.53 billion in FY 2025/26, compared to NPR 15.32 billion in FY 2024/25, representing an increase of NPR 2.21 billion.
The latest figures mark the first annual increase in flight revenue after earnings had been declining continuously since Kartik 2078 BS (October/November 2021). Since Kartik 2082 BS, however, the national flag carrier has posted steady monthly improvements in flight revenue.

* Annual flight revenue has fluctuated over the past three fiscal years before rebounding strongly in FY 2025/26. Nepal Airlines generated NPR 15.43 billion in flight revenue in FY 2023/24 (2080/81), which declined slightly to NPR 15.32 billion in FY 2024/25 (2081/82). In FY 2025/26 (2082/83), however, the state-owned carrier recorded a sharp recovery, with flight revenue rising to NPR 17.53 billion, an increase of NPR 2.21 billion, or 12.6%, compared to the previous fiscal year. This marks the airline’s strongest annual flight revenue performance in the past four years.
Revenue declined slightly during Chaitra (March–April) due to disruptions caused by the conflict in West Asia. However, the airline rebounded strongly in the final two months of the fiscal year, generating NPR 2.945 billion in flight revenue during Jestha and Asar (May–July) alone.
The improved performance highlights a recovery in Nepal Airlines’ core operations and marks its strongest annual flight revenue in the past four fiscal years.
