KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast rain across various parts of Nepal from Thursday through Saturday morning.
Meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane stated that the weather is expected to improve after Saturday morning. The incoming rainfall is attributed to a cyclone developing in the Bay of Bengal. “A cyclone is forming in the Bay of Bengal; it is expected to move from the surrounding Indian states towards Nepal, potentially causing rain due to its impact,” Lamichhane said.
The system is likely to have the most significant impact on the country’s hilly and mountainous regions, although the Terai plains are also expected to be affected. According to the department, moderate rainfall is expected in most areas during this period. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in a few locations and very heavy rainfall in one or two places.
