KATHMANDU: The Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 officially kicked off today at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu.
Inaugurating the event, Inspector General of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Thapa emphasized the need for strong collaboration between the transportation and mobility sectors to drive economic growth.
“I believe exhibitions like this will serve as a milestone for the development of Nepal’s transportation and mobility sectors. It is crucial to focus on road safety, traffic management, and vehicle discipline,” Thapa stated. “By enhancing coordination and partnership between regulatory bodies and stakeholders, we can build a well-organized transport system.”
Ritu Singh Vaidya, President of the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), highlighted that a wide range of vehicle models are showcased together under one roof.
Running from August 11 to August 16, 2026, the expo features the launch of 18 new two-wheeler brands and 29 new four-wheeler brands.
Other key business leaders—including Anjan Shrestha, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI); Birendra Raj Pandey, President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI); Punya Prasad Sitaula (Saroj), President of the Federation of Nepalese Transport Entrepreneurs; and Kamlesh Agrawal, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce—also voiced their commitment to making the transportation sector organized, safe, and dignified.
