Nepal Rastra Bank fixes foreign exchange rates for Saturday

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has fixed the foreign exchange rates for major currencies for Saturday, with the US dollar remaining at Rs 150.88 for buying and Rs 151.48 for selling.

According to the central bank, the buying rate for one European euro has been set at Rs 175.29 and the selling rate at Rs 175.99. The UK pound sterling has been fixed at Rs 204.04 for buying and Rs 204.85 for selling, while the Swiss franc stands at Rs 186.38 and Rs 187.12, respectively.

The Australian dollar has been fixed at Rs 108.63 for buying and Rs 109.07 for selling. Similarly, the Canadian dollar is set at Rs 109.31 for buying and Rs 109.74 for selling, while the Singapore dollar stands at Rs 119.02 and Rs 119.50, respectively.

The buying rate for 10 Japanese yen is Rs 9.64 and the selling rate is Rs 9.68. One Chinese yuan has been fixed at Rs 22.48 for buying and Rs 22.57 for selling. Likewise, the Saudi Arabian riyal stands at Rs 40.18 for buying and Rs 40.34 for selling, while the Qatari riyal is fixed at Rs 41.39 and Rs 41.56, respectively.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the Thai baht has been set at Rs 4.58 for buying and Rs 4.60 for selling. The UAE dirham is fixed at Rs 41.08 and Rs 41.24, respectively, while the Malaysian ringgit stands at Rs 37.30 for buying and Rs 37.45 for selling.

The buying rate for one South Korean won is Rs 11.16 and the selling rate is Rs 11.21. Similarly, the Swedish krona has been fixed at Rs 15.78 for buying and Rs 15.85 for selling, while the Danish krone stands at Rs 23.45 and Rs 23.54, respectively.

The buying rate for one Hong Kong dollar is Rs 19.24 and the selling rate is Rs 19.32. The Kuwaiti dinar has been fixed at Rs 491.47 for buying and Rs 493.42 for selling. Similarly, the Bahraini dinar stands at Rs 400.19 for buying and Rs 401.78 for selling, while the Omani rial has been fixed at Rs 391.89 and Rs 393.45, respectively.

The central bank has fixed the exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees at Rs 160 for both buying and selling.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that the exchange rates may be revised at any time if necessary. It has also noted that exchange rates quoted by commercial banks may differ from the rates fixed by the central bank.
