KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has withdrawn from the Koshi Provincial Government following a change in the ruling alliance.
Ministers representing the Nepali Congress submitted their resignations on Wednesday, according to party leader and Minister for Tourism, Forest and Environment Bhim Parajuli.
The resignations came after a new political equation was formed between the CPN-UML and the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), increasing pressure on Congress ministers to step down from the government.
The Nepali Congress had been represented in the Koshi government by Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Pradip Sunuwar, Minister for Health Man Bahadur Limbu, Minister for Industry, Agriculture and Cooperatives Israel Mansuri, Minister for Tourism, Forest and Environment Bhim Parajuli, and State Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Shobha Chemjong.
With the Nepali Congress leaving the government, the NCP is now preparing to join the Koshi Provincial Government under the new ruling arrangement.
