KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa on Thursday welcomed former party president and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who returned to Nepal after an absence of nearly five and a half months.
According to a party leader, Thapa extended his welcome and wished Deuba a speedy recovery while opening the Central Working Committee meeting at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
“At the very beginning of the meeting, the president welcomed the former president,” the leader said. “His brief remark was: ‘I welcome former party president and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba back to the country and wish him good health and a speedy recovery.’”
Deuba returned to Nepal on Thursday after spending an extended period in Singapore and Hong Kong.
