KATHMANDU: The Nepali national men’s cricket team was officially bid farewell today by National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Ram Charitra Mehta and Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka ahead of their departure for the 20th Asian Games in Japan.
Marking their fourth Asian Games appearance, Nepal is set to open group-stage play against Japan before facing Afghanistan on Friday.
Having previously reached as far as the quarterfinals, Captain Dipendra Singh Airee announced the squad’s target this year is to win the gold medal.
