KATHMANDU: The Association of Nepali Origin (ANO) has urged Nepali communities and organizations worldwide to mobilize support for people affected by the devastating Bhotekoshi floods and landslides.

In a statement, ANO said the Aug. 26 disaster had caused extensive damage in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and other areas, leaving communities in urgent need of assistance.

The organization called for faster rescue operations and immediate restoration of disrupted highways, communication and electricity services.

It also urged authorities to prioritize the delivery of food, drinking water, medicines and temporary shelter to affected families.

ANO expressed condolences to those who lost their lives and called for the safe rescue of missing people and recovery of the injured.

The appeal was issued by ANO Central Committee President Dilli Adhikari, who urged Nepali-origin communities across the world to come together and provide whatever assistance they can to the worst-hit areas.
