KATHMANDU: A Nepali citizen has been killed in a drone strike in northern Kuwait, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Kuwait. The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Som Kumar Tamang of Tehrathum district, who was working as a driver in Kuwait.

The embassy said it received official information about the incident from Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the drone attack that occurred on July 30, 2026 (Shrawan 14, 2083 BS). Expressing deep sorrow over Tamang’s death, the Nepali Embassy conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family.

The embassy also stated that it is coordinating with the concerned authorities to ensure that Tamang’s mortal remains are repatriated to Nepal at the earliest possible time. In view of the sensitive security situation in Kuwait, the embassy has urged all Nepali nationals residing there to exercise special caution.

It has appealed to the Nepali community to strictly follow the security guidelines issued by the Kuwaiti government, remain calm, and stay in safe locations.
