KATHMANDU: The number of mobile broadband internet users in Nepal reached 27.73 million by the end of the fiscal year 2025/26 (mid-July 2026), according to the latest data released by the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA).

The figure represents an increase of 112,989 users from the previous month, when the country recorded 27.62 million mobile broadband subscribers.
According to the NTA, Nepal Telecom remained the country’s largest mobile broadband provider with 15.32 million subscribers, followed by Ncell with 12.32 million users.
The growth was driven primarily by continued expansion of 4G services. Nepal Telecom added 25,360 new 4G users during the month, increasing its total to 14.66 million, while Ncell gained 95,893 new 4G subscribers, taking its total to 12.32 million.

Meanwhile, the number of 3G users continued to decline. Nepal Telecom lost 10,057 3G subscribers, reducing its total to 655,981, while Ncell’s 3G user base remained below one million at 92,912.
The latest figures indicate that Nepal’s mobile internet market continues to shift from legacy 3G networks to 4G connectivity, with both major telecom operators expanding their high-speed mobile broadband subscriber base.
