KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined marginally by 2.25 points on Monday to close at 2,641.58 points.
The market recorded a turnover of Rs 5.525 billion, with 11,932,035 shares of 350 companies changing hands in 56,818 transactions.
Share prices of 201 companies fell, while 72 advanced and five remained unchanged.
Sarbottam Paints and Mount Everest Hydropower posted the highest gains, with their share prices rising by nearly 15 percent. Reliance Spinning Mills gained 11.17 percent, while Sagarmatha Jalvidhyut Company rose 11.06 percent. Forward Microfinance recorded the steepest decline at 6.63 percent.
Among sectoral indices, the Finance sector fell the most, declining 1.14 percent, while the Manufacturing sector gained 1.30 percent. Other sectoral indices moved by less than 1 percent.
Reliance Spinning Mills led turnover with shares worth Rs 1.386 billion traded. Solu Hydropower recorded turnover of Rs 384.4 million, while Ridi Power Company posted Rs 164.1 million.
