NEPSE drops by 10.67 points to settle at 2,618.72

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased by 10.67 points on Friday, settling at 2,618.72 points. Along with the index, the total trading volume also saw a slight decline. While trading stood at Rs 4.40 billion on Thursday, shares worth Rs 4.16 billion were bought and sold on Friday.

In Friday’s market session, the prices of 70 companies increased, while 198 companies recorded a decline, and 10 companies remained unchanged. The top companies by trading volume included Reliance Spinning Mills, Solu Hydropower, Ridi Power, Sanima Mai Hydropower, Sanima Middle Tamor, Mountain Energy, and Sahas Urja.

Sector-wise, the “Others” group suffered the highest loss, dropping by 1.06 percent. Declines were also observed across other indices: Banking fell by 0.04%, Development Bank by 0.54%, Finance by 0.43%, Hotels and Tourism by 0.10%, Hydropower by 0.66%, Investment by 0.19%, Life Insurance by 0.37%, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.46%, Microfinance by 0.44%, Non-Life Insurance by 0.04%, and Trade by 0.68%.

Among individual stock movements, Dhaulagiri Microfinance saw its share price drop by 5.26%, followed by Suryajyoti Hydro Electric at 4.17%, and Grameen Bikas Laghubitta at 3.87%. Conversely, Sarbottam Cement led the gainers with a surge of 15%, followed by Panchakanya Mai Hydrolines up by 13.86%, Rapti Hydro and General Construction up by 5.51%, and Hathway Investment up by 4.99%.
