NEPSE index fell by double digits

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s stock market declined sharply on Tuesday, with the benchmark NEPSE index falling by double digits.

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the index dropped 19.34 points to close at 2,622.48.

The Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of large-cap companies, fell 2.55 points to 461.09. Similarly, the Float Index declined 1.30 points to 179.97, while the Sensitive Float Index dropped 0.88 points to 155.76.

A total of 151,969,82 shares of various companies were traded today, with total turnover reaching Rs 5.07 billion.

Of the 13 sectoral subgroups, only one posted gains, while the remaining 12 declined. Share prices of 56 companies increased, while 218 companies fell and five remained unchanged.

According to NEPSE, investors in Sarvottam Paints Industries, Mount Everest Power Development Company, and Manakamana Engineering Hydropower were among the gainers.

Meanwhile, investors in Sagarmatha Jalabidhyut Company, Khanikhola Hydropower, and Siddhartha Equity Fund recorded losses.
