NEPSE rebounds after four-day losing streak, gains 12.96 points

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s stock market recovered on the final trading day of the week, with the NEPSE Index rising 12.96 points (0.48%) to close at 2,685.54, snapping a four-session losing streak. Daily turnover also increased to Rs 3.76 billion, up from Rs 3.38 billion in the previous session.

A total of 8.85 million shares of 337 listed companies changed hands during the day. Most sectoral indices ended in positive territory, led by the Others Index, which gained 0.93%. Ridi Power was the day’s most actively traded stock, recording transactions worth Rs 172.6 million.

Market analyst Prakash Rajoure said the market is still facing higher supply than demand, but the rise in trading volume suggests selling pressure may be easing. He added that the introduction of margin lending by brokers could improve liquidity, boost investor participation, and help the market regain momentum from next week.
