KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a marginal gain of 0.55 points to close at 2,642.40 points on Wednesday, following a fluctuating trading session.
This follows a 0.79-point increase on Tuesday and a 9.04-point drop on Monday. While the sensitive index rose by 1.39 points to settle at 463.61 points alongside gains in the float and sensitive float indices, the overall turnover decreased to Rs 3.532 billion compared to Rs 4.109 billion the previous day.
Market activity involved 8,701,944 shares of 348 companies traded across 43,990 transactions.
Market breadth remained negative as share prices of 165 companies declined, while 102 advanced and nine remained stable.
Out of the 13 sub-indices, five posted gains—led by the investment sub-index at 2.21 percent—while the remaining eight declined, with manufacturing and processing dropping the most at 0.70 percent.
In individual performances, Mount Everest Power Development hit a positive circuit with a 15 percent gain, whereas ICFC Finance Limited debentures hit a negative circuit by losing 15 percent. Meanwhile, NRN Infrastructure and Development led in turnover with Rs 316 million, and Kumari Bank topped the share volume with 394,307 units traded, closing at Rs 319 per share.
