New Masterni posters tease emotional mother-daughter bond and gripping crime mystery

A A+ A-

KATHMANDU: The makers of the upcoming Nepali crime thriller Masterni have unveiled two new posters, offering a deeper look into the film’s emotional core and suspenseful storyline.

Produced under the Ayanka Films banner, the film had earlier generated positive buzz with a solo character poster featuring actress Priyanka Karki. Building on that response, the production team has now released two new designs that blend emotion with mystery.

The first poster highlights the touching bond between a mother and daughter, with Priyanka Karki embracing actress Simran Khadka in a heartfelt moment. The second poster shifts focus to the film’s crime and investigation angle, featuring Priyanka Karki, Simran Khadka, and actor Pramod Agrahari. The background includes missing persons’ notices, while the foreground is marked with a “Nepal Police – Crime Scene, Do Not Enter” barrier, hinting at a serious criminal investigation.

The poster’s tagline-“She didn’t choose crime. She only chose her daughter.”-suggests that the story revolves around the difficult choices a mother is forced to make to protect her child. Both posters were designed by Royal Bhimsen.

Directed by Shubhendu Ghosh, Masterni stars Priyanka Karki, Simran Khadka, Pramod Agrahari, Aryan Sigdel, Saroj Khanal, Gauri Malla, Richa Sharma, Anup Bikram Shahi, Rakshya Thapa, and Dinesh Kafle.

The film is based on a story by Priyanka Karki, with the screenplay written by Shan Basnet. Priyanka and Shan also collaborated on the film’s dialogues.

The film is produced by Priyanka Karki, Cabinet Shrestha, Ayushman Joshi, and Pranit Karki. Surakshya Singh Malhotra serves as executive producer, while Simos Sunuwar is the creative producer. Cinematography is by Yuvraj Indoriya, with editing by Raja Singh Sidhu.

Masterni is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on August 20 (Bhadra 5). In addition to its Nepali release, the producers plan to launch the film simultaneously in nine other languages, aiming to reach a wider international audience.
