KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) board member Santosh Pokharel has called for stronger collaboration between the government and the private sector to revitalize Nepal’s tourism industry and enhance its global presence.
Speaking at a welcome and felicitation program organized by the Pokhara Tourism Council, Pokharel said the NTB’s primary responsibility is to promote Nepal in international markets and attract foreign tourists, rather than undertake infrastructure development.
He stressed the need for greater coordination among tourism stakeholders, saying a unified approach to international marketing would be far more effective than fragmented promotional efforts. “Common challenges facing the tourism sector should be addressed collectively, and destinations like Pokhara should present a single, integrated tourism brand in overseas markets,” he said.
