NHRC reminds better coordination, assistance in urgency

KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged all sides concerned to extend support, coordination and humanitarian service in the face of crises caused by the Bhotekoshi flash flood.

Joint secretary at NHRC, Yagya Prasad Adhikari, appealed to everyone to engage in rescue works considering the present urgency. “NHRC draws attention of all sides to pay special attention to the safety, food, shelter, drinking water, health and sanitation to the disaster survivors,” he said, adding that the initial study showed some 15 local levels of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Tanahu and vicinity received huge loss of lives and property due to the flash flood occurred on August 26.

NHRC also observed that it was receiving information that all three tiers of government, political parties, organizations, and citizens were working for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected people.
