KAVRE: Due to forecasts of heavy monsoon rainfall, authorities have banned vehicle movement at night on the Kavrepalanchok section of the BP Highway from September 24 to 28 (5:00 PM to 5:00 AM daily).
Chief District Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari stated that the measure aims to minimize landslide and flood risks.
If conditions worsen during the day, the District Police Office may halt daytime traffic as well.
Nearby districts (Sindhuli and Bhaktapur) have been requested to help enforce the restriction.
Additionally, residents along riverbanks and landslide-prone areas are advised to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel.
Security forces (Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force) have been placed on high alert for emergency rescue operations.
