RASUWA: Nine people, including an inspector of the Armed Police Force (APF), have been reported missing after a sudden flood swept through Timure Bazaar in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning.
According to a source, APF Inspector Ambir Khatri and eight other personnel stationed at the APF Border Out Post (BOP) in Timure lost contact after the flood hit the area at around 9 am. The powerful flow of water reportedly swept away settlements and other structures in the area.
The source said the BOP itself was not damaged by the flood. Of the 30 personnel stationed there, six were on leave and 15 have been confirmed safe. The remaining nine personnel, who were on duty when the flood struck, remain uncontactable.
A Nepal Police team deployed in Timure has also reportedly lost contact following the disaster.
Preliminary reports suggest that Timure Bazaar suffered significant damage after floodwaters flowed into the area from the direction of China. The flood carried large amounts of mud and debris, sweeping away houses, shops and vehicles.
Search and rescue operations are underway to locate the missing APF personnel. Authorities have not yet released complete details of the incident, while police and local administration officials are continuing to assess the damage.
