KATHMANDU: The 19th Library Day is scheduled for August 31, with a nationwide celebration.

The main organizing committee for the event is led by Chudamani Paudel, Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Sports.

This year’s theme, “Children, youth, and the elderly: Libraries are everyone’s destination,” emphasizes the inclusivity and accessibility of libraries for all demographics.

To facilitate the event, four thematic committees have been established, each with designated leaders responsible for various aspects of the celebration, including honors and awards, publication, publicity, and social activities.

The festivities will be conducted at both province and local levels, engaging educational institutions and library organizations.

Efforts are underway to secure support from the offices of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers across all seven provinces, ensuring broad participation from local communities in the celebrations.
