KATHMANDU: Two matches are scheduled for Tuesday as the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) continues.
The first match at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur features Biratnagar Kings against Chitwan Rhinos, while the second match pits Karnali Yaks against Janakpur Bolts. The first game is set for 12:30 p.m., followed by the second at 4:30 p.m.
Previous encounters between these sides add intrigue to today’s fixtures. In the last edition, Chitwan defeated Biratnagar by 48 runs. Chitwan posted 174 runs for five wickets in their 20 overs, while Biratnagar was bowled out for 126 in 16.5 overs. Ravi Bopara played a key role in Chitwan’s victory. During that league stage, Biratnagar finished second with five wins from seven matches, whereas Chitwan placed seventh.
The second match features a rematch between Karnali Yaks and Janakpur Bolts. In their previous meeting, Karnali secured a narrow three-run victory. Karnali scored 129 for nine in their 20 overs, and Janakpur managed 126 for seven in response.
The match remained competitive until the final over. Last season, Janakpur finished at the bottom of the table with only one win from seven matches, while Karnali placed sixth with two wins. Both teams will be looking to improve on their previous performances as they face off again today.
