NRB publishes foreign exchange rates for Saturday

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the foreign exchange rates applicable for today, Saturday.

The central bank has fixed the buying rate of the US dollar at Rs 152.04 and the selling rate at Rs 152.64.

According to the rates released by NRB, one euro is being bought at Rs 175.27 and sold at Rs 175.96. The UK pound sterling has a buying rate of Rs 204.36 and a selling rate of Rs 205.16, while the Swiss franc is being bought at Rs 187.59 and sold at Rs 188.33.

For other major currencies, the buying and selling rates of the Australian dollar have been set at Rs 107.04 and Rs 107.46, respectively. The Canadian dollar is fixed at Rs 108.45 for buying and Rs 108.88 for selling, while the Singapore dollar stands at Rs 118.67 and Rs 119.14.

The buying rate for 10 Japanese yen has been set at Rs 9.60 and the selling rate at Rs 9.64. The Chinese yuan is valued at Rs 22.53 for buying and Rs 22.62 for selling. The Saudi Arabian riyal is being bought at Rs 40.50 and sold at Rs 40.66, while the Qatari riyal has been fixed at Rs 41.72 and Rs 41.89.

NRB has also set the buying and selling rates of the Thai baht at Rs 4.60 and Rs 4.62, the UAE dirham at Rs 41.40 and Rs 41.56, and the Malaysian ringgit at Rs 37.16 and Rs 37.31.

For 100 South Korean won, the buying rate is Rs 10.74 and the selling rate is Rs 10.78. The Swedish krona is fixed at Rs 16.02 for buying and Rs 16.09 for selling, while the Danish krone is set at Rs 23.45 and Rs 23.54.

The central bank has further fixed the Hong Kong dollar at Rs 19.38 for buying and Rs 19.46 for selling, the Kuwaiti dinar at Rs 495.08 and Rs 497.04, the Bahraini dinar at Rs 403.24 and Rs 404.83, and the Omani rial at Rs 394.89 and Rs 396.45.

The buying rate of 100 Indian rupees has been maintained at Rs 160.00, while the selling rate has been set at Rs 160.15.

NRB noted that the exchange rates may be revised whenever necessary. It also stated that commercial banks may quote slightly different rates, and the latest official rates are available on the central bank’s website.
