NRB sets foreign exchange rates for Sunday

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published the official foreign exchange rates for today (Sunday), with the buying rate of one US dollar fixed at Rs 152.04 and the selling rate at Rs 152.64.

According to the central bank, one euro is being bought at Rs 175.27 and sold at Rs 175.96. The buying and selling rates for the UK pound sterling have been set at Rs 204.36 and Rs 205.16 respectively, while the Swiss franc is fixed at Rs 187.59 for buying and Rs 188.33 for selling.

Among other major currencies, the Australian dollar is being traded at Rs 107.04 for buying and Rs 107.46 for selling, the Canadian dollar at Rs 108.45 and Rs 108.88, and the Singapore dollar at Rs 118.67 and Rs 119.14.

The buying rate for 10 Japanese yen has been fixed at Rs 9.60 and the selling rate at Rs 9.64. One Chinese yuan is valued at Rs 22.53 for buying and Rs 22.62 for selling, while the Saudi riyal is set at Rs 40.50 and Rs 40.66. The Qatari riyal is being exchanged at Rs 41.72 for buying and Rs 41.89 for selling.

The central bank has also fixed the buying and selling rates of the Thai baht at Rs 4.60 and Rs 4.62, the UAE dirham at Rs 41.40 and Rs 41.56, and the Malaysian ringgit at Rs 37.16 and Rs 37.31. The rate for 100 South Korean won has been set at Rs 10.74 for buying and Rs 10.78 for selling.

Similarly, one Swedish krona is being bought at Rs 16.02 and sold at Rs 16.09, while one Danish krone is fixed at Rs 23.45 for buying and Rs 23.54 for selling.

For Gulf and Asian currencies, the buying and selling rates have been fixed at Rs 19.38 and Rs 19.46 for the Hong Kong dollar, Rs 495.08 and Rs 497.04 for the Kuwaiti dinar, Rs 403.24 and Rs 404.83 for the Bahraini dinar, and Rs 394.89 and Rs 396.45 for the Omani rial.

The exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees has been maintained at Rs 160.00 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.

NRB has stated that the exchange rates may be revised at any time as required. It also noted that the rates applied by commercial banks may vary, and the latest updates can be accessed through the central bank’s official website.
