KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the exchange rates for major foreign currencies for today. The central bank has set the U.S. dollar at Rs 151.97 for buying and Rs 152.57 for selling.
The euro has been fixed at Rs 176.29 for buying and Rs 176.99 for selling, while the British pound sterling stands at Rs 205.84 and Rs 206.66, respectively. The Swiss franc is set at Rs 188 for buying and Rs 188.74 for selling.
The Australian dollar has been fixed at Rs 108.84 for buying and Rs 109.27 for selling. Similarly, the Canadian dollar stands at Rs 109.41 and Rs 109.85, while the Singapore dollar is set at Rs 119.40 and Rs 119.87 for buying and selling, respectively.
For Asian currencies, 10 Japanese yen have been fixed at Rs 9.52 for buying and Rs 9.55 for selling. The Chinese yuan stands at Rs 22.62 and Rs 22.70, while the Saudi Arabian riyal is set at Rs 40.48 and Rs 40.64. The Qatari riyal has been fixed at Rs 41.69 for buying and Rs 41.85 for selling.
The Thai baht stands at Rs 4.58 for buying and Rs 4.60 for selling. The UAE dirham has been set at Rs 41.38 and Rs 41.54, while the Malaysian ringgit is fixed at Rs 37.75 and Rs 37.90, respectively.
The buying and selling rates for 100 South Korean won are both Rs 11.11. Meanwhile, the Swedish krona has been fixed at Rs 15.86 and Rs 15.92, while the Danish krone stands at Rs 23.58 and Rs 23.68 for buying and selling, respectively.
Among other currencies, the Hong Kong dollar is priced at Rs 19.39 for buying and Rs 19.47 for selling. The Kuwaiti dinar stands at Rs 494.77 and Rs 496.73, while the Bahraini dinar has been fixed at Rs 403.08 and Rs 404.67.
The Omani rial is set at Rs 394.74 for buying and Rs 396.30 for selling. Meanwhile, 100 Indian rupees have been fixed at Rs 160 for both buying and selling.
NRB said the published exchange rates may be revised at any time depending on market conditions and other requirements. The central bank also noted that commercial banks may offer different rates and advised customers to check its website for the latest official exchange rates.
