KATHMANDU: Waste management operations in Kathmandu Valley are expected to be affected on November 10 and 11.
According to Sarita Rai, head of Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Environment Management Department, services will be disrupted during the Tihar festival because employees at Bancharedanda, the valley’s final waste disposal site, will also be on leave.
Regular garbage management will resume on November 12. Chief Rai has also urged city residents to manage their waste responsibly and avoid leaving it indiscriminately on roads and in public spaces while the site is closed.
