JANAKPURDHAM: The condition of Bikash Thakur, who was critically injured in police firing during a highway protest in Golbazar, Siraha, remains unknown.
According to Assistant Chief District Officer Chet Raj Baral of the Siraha District Administration Office, one person was killed and another seriously injured in the firing. Baral confirmed that the deceased was 20-year-old Ganesh Yadav. The injured person has been identified as Bikash Thakur, also believed to be around 20 years old.
He was taken to Dharan for further treatment with the coordination of the Nepal Army, officials said, but his current condition has not yet been confirmed.
“Thakur has been taken for treatment in coordination with the Nepal Army. We are still trying to ascertain his condition,” Baral said. Preliminary information suggests that Thakur is a resident of Dhanushadham Municipality in Dhanusha district.
