One dies at Dhanusha rehab center; ambulance driver arrested

JANAKPURDHAM: A 35 year-old man undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation facility in Dhanusha district passed away on Saturday evening, leading police to impound the transporting ambulance and arrest its driver.

According to the District Police Office, Dhanusha, Mojibul Rain, 35, a resident of Ganeshman Charnath Municipality 4, fell ill at the Shubhechha Foundation Rehabilitation Center in Dhanushadham Municipality 9. He was brought to Provincial Hospital Janakpur around 6:30 PM, where attending physicians declared him dead upon arrival.

Following reports that the facility’s operator, Nitesh Kumar Sah, fled the hospital premises, police seized the ambulance (Madhesh Province 02-001 Cha 1174) used to transport Rain and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Naresh Mandal.

Authorities confirmed that an investigation into the rehabilitation center’s management is underway while police actively search for the absconding operator.
